Tixel
Tixel is one of the newest skin-resurfacing treatments available in Brooklyn, NY, and Long Island, NY! Schedule a consultation with Dr. Olga Zilberstein to learn more about this effective, non-surgical treatment.
How does the Tixel work?
The Tixel utilizes state-of-the-art thermal-mechanical action technology for remarkable skin resurfacing outcomes. By employing a heated titanium tip, which reaches temperatures of up to 400 degrees Celsius. These high temperatures result in effective stimulation of collagen and elastin production. The production of new collagen and elastin helps improve treated areas. Each pulse creates tiny micro-coagulation channels for medication infusion. The results can be enhanced by the infusion of customized mesotherapy solutions such as hyaluronic acid, growth factors, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), and vitamins.
What areas can be treated with the Tixel?
With new collagen and elastin production, we can achieve a full-face rejuvenation with the Tixel. We can treat different parts and concerns of the face including:
- Eye Rejuvenation: Producing new collagen and elastin helps improve under-eye wrinkles, crows feet, and overall crepey skin around the eyes. The Tixel is one of the only non-surgical treatments that can go directly on the eyelid. This can effectively lift the upper eyelids, resulting in a non-surgical blepharoplasty. Additionally, we can reduce the appearance of under-eye bags. When we combine this treatment with customized serums, this enhances the results!
- Fine Lines and Wrinkles: The Tixel uses heat technology to produce new collagen and elastin production. This helps improve marionette lines, nasolabial folds, crows feet, forehead wrinkles, frown lines, and crepey skin that is difficult to treat.
- Acne: A titanium tip is heated up to 400 degrees Celsius and pulses to contact the skin briefly. The high heat and thermal energy effectively eradicate the bacteria that cause acne and reduces the inflammation and severity of acne lesions.
- Acne Scars: Thermo-mechanical skin resurfacing creates micro-coagulation and breaks down scar tissue. It also stimulates collagen and elastin production. We enhance the effect by introducing growth factors through microchannels created by the titanium tip. Keloid scars can be treated in conjunction with 5-FU or steroids applied locally right after the treatment.
- Hyper-Pigmentation: The Tixel uses thermal-mechanical action technology for superior skin resurfacing results. We use a lightening solution to penetrate the skin through micro-channels, created by the machine. It is advised to use it with prescribed lightening creams as well.
- Neck: The Tixel helps improve superficial lines and wrinkles, and improves skin tone and texture on the neck.
- Body: Anywhere on the body can be treated: knees, abdomen, arms, inner thighs, etc. New collagen production and elastin lift and tighten the area, and improve the appearance of crepey skin.
How often should I do the Tixel?
It is recommended to do the treatment 3-5 times, 4-6 weeks apart.
What is the downtime for the Tixel?
There is minimal social downtime! Patients are advised that they may have up to 3 days of mild swelling (especially around the eyes) and roughness to their skin for 5 to 7 days. Patients may wear makeup after 24 hours, and most return to normal activity (including social interaction and work) within hours post-treatment.
Can the Tixel be combined with other treatments?
The Tixel can be combined with Radiesse, Hyper-Dilute Radiesse, and Sculptra!
Is the treatment painful?
The pain is minimal. The procedure is easily tolerated with a topical anesthetic cream.
