Upper and Lower Eyelid Treatments

The eyes can be one of the first areas in the face that show signs of aging. Full eye rejuvenation can be achieved non-surgically. Schedule a consultation with Dr. Olga Zilberstein to see what treatment options work for you.

Seven common eye concerns are seen in our practice. These include crow’s feet, crepey skin around the eyes, dark circles, hollow under eyes, under-eye bags, eye rolls, and droopy upper eyelids.

What are crows feet?

One of the most common concerns we see in our office is the formation of crow’s feet. Crow’s feet are wrinkles that form at the side of the eyes, stretching out towards the temples. We treat crow’s feet with neuromodulators (Botox, Jeuveau, Dysport, or Daxxify). Neuromodulators are made up of botulinum toxin, and this is supposed to relax muscles and reduce muscle activity. When we reduce muscle activity, we stop the formation of these wrinkles. This treatment takes up to 14 days to fully “kick” in and, on average, lasts 3-4 months. We have crows feet Botox in Brooklyn, NY, and Long Island, NY.

How do you treat crepey skin around the eyes?

Crepey skin around the eyes appears to be wrinkly and thin. We can non-surgically treat it with:

  • Medical Grade Skincare: Our retinol-based eye cream contains hyaluronic acid and peptides that work together to help stimulate collagen production and improve skin tone and texture.
  • Radio-Frequency (RF) Micro-Needling: This treatment combines micro-needling with RF energy to stimulate collagen production and tighten the skin around the eyes. To enhance the results, we like to combine this treatment with Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) or Exosomes.
  • Micro-Needling: This treatment uses tiny needles that go deep into the dermis to stimulate collagen production and tighten the eye area. We also micro-needle Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF), Exosomes, and other serums into the skin to enhance the results.
  • Skinvive: Skinvive is the first FDA-approved mesotherapy. It is a pure hyaluronic acid and we inject it into the skin via micro-droplets. Skinvive hydrates the skin, keeping it looking fresh and plump. We have Skinvive in Brooklyn, NY, and Long Island, NY!
  • Threads: We use PDO or PCL threads to create a scaffold under the skin that stimulates collagen production and improves the appearance of crepey, wrinkly skin.
  • Tixel: The Tixel is a needleless treatment that uses heat therapy to stimulate collagen production, tighten the skin, and reduce the appearance of wrinkly, crepey skin.
How do you treat dark under-eye circles?

Dark under-eye circles happen due to age, genetics, allergies, and fatigue. We offer dark circle treatments in Brooklyn, NY, and Long Island, NY! We can brighten the under-eyes and improve the appearance of dark circles with these treatments:

  • Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF): PRF harnesses your body’s natural growth factors. We draw your blood and spin it in a centrifuge. We inject your plasma directly under the eyes to stimulate collagen production and reduce the appearance of dark circles.
  • Medical Grade Skin Care: Our brand of retinol-based eye cream contains hyaluronic acid and peptides that work together to stimulate collagen production and brighten the under-eyes.
  • Tear-Trough Fillers: We inject hyaluronic acid filler under the eyes and this immediately lightens dark circles.
  • Mesotherapy: Mesotherapy is a solution that delivers hyaluronic acid, vitamins, and peptides into the skin via micro-droplets. This treatment reduces the appearance of dark under-eyes!
  • Skinvive: Skinvive is a new treatment created by Allergan. It delivers hydration under the eye eyes and helps even out dark circles.
How do you treat hollow under-eyes?

Hollow under-eyes, also known as sunken eyes, happen due to genetics and aging. They can appear with time as the cheeks gradually descend. The eyes appear hollow and make the eye area appear dark or shaded. We can improve the appearance of hollow under-eyes with these treatments:

  • Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF): We draw and spin your blood in a centrifuge. This separates your plasma, fibrin, and growth factors from the rest of your blood content. We inject your plasma directly under your eyes. This stimulates collagen production and, over time, provides a natural volumizing effect, filling in the under-eyes.
  • Hyaluronic Acid Filler: We inject hyaluronic acid fillers, like Restylane and RHA 2, into the tear troughs to “fill” in the hollowness. The results are immediate. We often like to use the “cannula method” to reduce possibility of side effects like bruising or intra vascular injection.

How can we improve under-eye bags?

Under-eye bags are puffiness in the lower eyelids. This can be caused by aging, genetics, fluid retention, lack of sleep, smoking, allergies, and medical conditions. We can reduce the appearance of the puffiness with the following treatments:

  • Radio-Frequency (RF) Micro-Needling: Heat is driven directly on the under-eye bags to stimulate and remodel collagen production, contract and tighten the skin, and melt the fat in this area.
  • Dermal Fillers: We inject hyaluronic acid-based fillers directly under the eyes, which camouflages the puffiness.

How can we improve the eye roll?

An eye roll, aka “jelly roll” is when the under-eye muscle (orbicularis oculi) is over-contracted and causes a bulge under the eyes.  We can improve the appearance of the eye roll with neuromodulator injections. We inject neuromodulators, like Botox, Jeuveau, Dysport, or Daxxify, into the orbicularis oculi muscle to relax the muscle and reduce the bulky appearance. Neuromodulators can take up to 14 days to take effect. The results last on average for about 3-4 months! It varies from patient to patient. Over time, the muscle becomes weaker and you won’t contract it as much. This is known as a “lunchtime” treatment! It’s quick, minimally invasive, and requires no downtime. We have Botox injections in Sheepshead Bay, NY, and Hewlett, NY.

How can we improve the upper eyelids non-surgically?

Saggy and wrinkly upper eyelids are caused by loss of collagen, gravity, and genetics. We offer non-surgical upper-eyelid blepharoplasties in Brooklyn, NY, and Long Island, NY! The following procedures open up the eyelids and make you look younger and less tired:

  • Neuromodulators: Neuromodulators like Botox, Jeuveau, Dysport, and Daxxify are strategically injected into the upper face to elevate the eyebrows.
  • Plasma Pen: This treatment uses fibroblast therapy to tighten the upper eyelid skin and reduce the appearance of hooded eyes.
  • Dermal fillers: Hyaluronic Acid Fillers are injected into the temple and eyebrow area, causing slight elevation and opening up the eyelids.
  • Radio-Frequency (RF) Micro-Needling: We use RF micro-needling to go directly on the bone above the eyes. This stimulates collagen production tightens the skin and creates a slight lift.
  • Tixel: The Tixel is a needless treatment that uses controlled heat to stimulate collagen production and tighten the skin. We can directly go on the eyelids and this lifts the upper eyelids.
  • Threads: PDO, PCL, or PLLA threads are inserted above the eyebrows to elevate the brows resulting in an openeye appearance.
