Bellafill

Bellafill logoWhat is Bellafill Filler?

Bellafill filler is an FDA approved dermal filler. It is used for permanent implantation into the skin in order to fix smile lines or nasolabial folds. Bellafill can be used by both men and women and is very effective in correcting facial acne scars on the face.

What is Bellafill made up of?

Bellafill consists of two main components and is injected with the local anaesthetic , lidocaine. The two components are:

  • Collagen Gel. This acts as the base of the Bellafill and makes up 80% of the filler. Collagen is what creates volume under the surface of nasolabial folds and smile lines and helps form smooth skin.
  • Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) makes up the remaining 20% of the filler. When the original collagen begins to deteriorate, PMMA works to replace that collagen with naturally producing collagen in your body.

How does Bellafill work?

Bellafill is injected into the skin with a thin needle. Bellafill expands the skin and gets rid of folds and wrinkles and leaves your skin feeling smooth and replenished. A large study was conducted on Bellafill patients that revealed that after five years, 83% of patients were still satisfied with their results.

What do I need to do before using Bellafill?

Allergy pre-testing is necessary before using Bellafill. This is required to make sure that the patient is not allergic to the collagen in the Bellafill. This treatment is best for men and women over the age of 21.

When will I see the results?

Patients will see results from Bellafill in 1 or 2 treatments. The procedure is painless and takes about ten minutes to complete!

How long does it last?

Bellafill is a non-resorbable dermal filler and the effects of Bellafill are permanent.  However, there are surgical procedures available for reversing the effects and removing the collagen from the face.

Are There Any Side effects?

Side effects are uncommon from Bellafill. Mild bruising may occur but will clear up after a maximum of a week. Rash and swelling may also occur 48 hours after treatment but is rare. Other rare side effects include lumps and granulomas and it is easily treated by a physician.
